Level 3 First Aid at Work

Level 3 First Aid at Work Qualification

This three-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment.

The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The First Aid at Work course is 18 hours and can be delivered over three consecutive days or can be split into smaller sessions and delivered over a 10 week period from the start of the course.

The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, as well as a practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

Pre-Requisites

Candidates must be a minimum of 16 years of age at the time of taking the assessment. No prior first aid knowledge is required. All learners are required to complete the course enrolment form which is sent to the learner/person booking the course.

Learner Registration

All learners are also required to register for a society number using the link provided below, learners must add this to their course enrolment form (issued at the point of booking) a minimum of 7 working days prior to course commencement and return to us in PDF format via email within this timeframe.

If you already have an existing society number from a previous course, please use that instead of registering for a new number.

Learners will not be accepted on courses without registering for a society number, as we cannot generate the course assessment materials without learner registration being fully completed.

  • How to provide first aid to a casualty with suspected major illness
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with an eye injury
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected head and spinal injuries
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with sudden poisoning
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with suspected chest injuries
  • How to administer first aid to a casualty with anaphylaxis

Assessment

First Aid at Work is Trainer Assessed throughout the course and the assessment should determine a learner’s ability to act safely, promptly and effectively when an emergency occurs at work and to deal with a casualty. This course includes multiple choice question papers. All Assessment Criteria in the units must be achieved.


Renewal

In order to re-qualify learners must be assessed against all learning outcomes and assessment criteria in the unit. The delivery time can be adjusted based on current HSE guidance for requalification (2 days). It is considered appropriate to reduce the time by 6 hours for re-qualification to 12 hours.

Candidates must be able to present a copy of their existing qualification certificate to us, to be eligible to renew their qualification.

ETS does not keep copies of previous learners certificates, this is to comply with our awarding bodies standards for quality assurance, due diligence and prevention of fraud.

If you have previously attended a course with us and have lost your certificate, replacement copies of certification can be purchased directly from our awarding body, it is at the discretion of the awarding body to issue new certificates. Please contact us for the replacement Certificate order form.

Maximum class size: 24 candidates with two instructors

This qualification lasts for 3 years from date of completion.

A retraining course is required every 3 years to maintain the award.

All of our first aid training courses can be delivered from a suitable room at your premises or from our training centre in Moira, near Swadlincote.

Clients can book on a course using the online booking form via email or telephone, once candidates have been confirmed, ETS will issue an invoice that must be paid 7 working days prior to course commencement see our T&C.

Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)

This qualification enables a first-aider to give emergency first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill while at work.

This one-day course covers a range of CPR and first aid skills, providing you with the skills to ensure a safe working environment. The qualification is Ofqual accredited and valid for three years, making it suitable for all industries and enabling you to meet HSE requirements.

The Emergency First Aid at Work course is six hours and can be delivered in one day or split into smaller sessions over a four week period from the start of the course. The course comprises of practical work and theoretical classroom work, including practical assessment on CPR and first aid.

The award is valid for three years as of the date of assessment.
